Netflix’s new series “From Scratch” is actually actress and author Tembi Locke’s true story. Based off Tembi’s memoir of the same name—the Zoe Saldana-led limited series follows Tembi’s rollercoaster life experience after falling in love with a Sicilian chef while studying abroad in Italy. The drama also highlights the unforeseen health challenges that threatened the couple’s future and difficulties they experienced blending their culturally diverse families. Tembi and her younger sister, Attica Locke, who is the Showrunner of the series, sit down with Tamron Hall to talk about turning the love story into a New York Times best-selling memoir then ultimately a Netflix series.
