This year I grinned at dogs and painted my nails opal white. I was so fragile I laughed, at the lumps in the film of our days, at how badly I wanted to be someone's favourite, at the peach yoghurt and the psychedelic dreams. This year I did good work. This year I did bad work. This year I stayed in until the stars were grains of rice and thought about how many people know my name now. From Thailand to Argentina, from Australia to Turkey. I think of you all - listening to me in your bedrooms, kitchens, washing fruit or playing cards or crying with intent. I'm just like you. Sometimes tired, sometimes strong. I know sometimes it's rough and you can't get it to stop. Sometimes you're sad on the phone, sometimes you can't stop loving. But I promise it will be so good, so soon. This year you found me or maybe in some ways I found you. Thank you.
